만국 공용어인 영어는 세계의 모든 사람들이 배우고 사용한다. 만국공용어인 영어로 만들어진 방대한 양의 데이터를 어휘, 용어, 절 등의 단위로 분석해 처리할 수 있는 기법을 배우는 교과목이다. 본 과정을 통해 학생들이 언어데이터 분석기법을 익힌다면, 다양한 언어데이터를 다양한 목적으로 분석해 활용할 수 있는 능력을 갖게 된다.
교과목해설(영문)
The objective of the course is 1) to explore theories and principles of roles terminology play in the fields of translation and interpretation; 2) to train students to apply their theoretical and conceptual background to a very practical approach to translation and interpretation; 3) to present a variety of computer tools for translators, including both Web-based applications and software specially designed for translation, in particular terminology management. At least a third or a fourth of this course is designed as a conceptual and a selective hands-on introduction to the computer knowledge translators need to successfully operate in the trans-lation industry.
